National Express operates coach services to Cambridge from major towns & cities throughout the U.K.

There are frequent coach services from both Central London, and London Stansted Airport through to the city.

The X5 cross county Stagecoach service links Oxford to Cambridge, via Bicester, Buckingham, Milton Keynes & Bedford.

There is a fast and frequent rail service from London King’s Cross & London Liverpool Street through to Cambridge.
There are excellent connections from Scotland & the North via Peterborough, and regional services from Birmingham & the Midlands, East Anglia & the Northwest.

For bus services from Cambridge railway station into the city centre look for the Citi 1, Citi 3 or Citi 7 services, all three of which offer a fast & frequent service. You can buy a Day Rider ticket allowing unlimited travel within the city for one day or a Mega Rider ticket that lasts for 7 days.

From the South & from London, Cambridge is a short trip up the M11 motorway. From the north, the A1 and M1 link to the A14 dual carriageway straight to the city, and from the east and west, the A14 again takes you to Cambridge.

NEW SIGNS TO HELP YOU

In order to assist drivers visiting Cambridge, we have installed new traffic signs to give you updated information on Park & Ride services, car parking & traffic conditions in the city centre.

These signs are located on the city-bound approaches to each Park & Ride site.

As you drive further into Cambridge additional signs are located across the city centre. They indicate the direction to each car park & will tell you the number of spaces available, when they are full or if they are closed for any reason.

Use these signs to guide you to your chosen place to park.

For short stay trips the City Centre Car Parks offer great convenience, but for longer visits there are 5 world class Park & Ride sites located on the outskirts of the City that provide free parking and a swift and frequent bus ride to the City Centre.

Cambridge is within easy reach of London Heathrow, London Gatwick & Birmingham International Airport.

Cambridge Airport (CBG) is just 1.5 miles from the city centre. Buses to/from the airport operate up to every 10mins, to Newmarket Road & Airport. Scheduled and charter flights already operate from France, Jersey and other destinations are being introduced. For more information click here.

London Stansted is the nearest large airport to Cambridge, located just 30 miles to the South of the city, with easy access by train, coach, or car (M11). EasyJet and Ryanair fly from Stansted.

Located just 67 miles South-East of Cambridge, it is possible to sail into Harwich from the Hook of Holland & Esbjerg. Excellent road, & rail links makes Cambridge easily accessible from the port.
