This exhibition is the first time this series of stock bull paintings will be shown together by British painter Mark Fairnington. His four bulls are painted life size and include a variety of British breeds painted meticulously on vast white canvases. Rather than being photorealist, the brushstrokes are evident in these painterly works, but the use of life size scale is key. Accompanying the bull paintings, are a further range of works by Fairnington: museum specimens, birds to insects and more, each questioning scale and the role of painting.

A solo exhibition of outstanding work by Hungarian artist Prokop Igor Jenő as part of The Cambridge Science Festival. His paintings are explosive capturing moments, as if under a microscope, of impulsive creation and implosion. They are alive with organic natural forms, painted precisely and with scientific accuracy, the defined outlines reminiscent of cell membranes. His fused glass bowls are less fitful, reflecting the natural forms that he sees around him and on his travels

Kettle's Yard
Castle Street, Cambridge
In 1977, Tim Head was appointed the first artist fellow at Kettle´s Yard. More than thirty years later, this exhibition provides a welcome chance to catch up with his work. The exhibition brings together new work in digital media - on screen, projected or in print - and drawing, alongside photographic works made by Head during his fellowship at Kettle´s Yard in 1977-78. Connecting these early and recent works is Head´s interest in the material substance of images and an insistence on the subjectivity of perception.

´Primarily my artwork is self-portraiture, but not in the traditional sense. In the work I create a photographic copy of myself and place it in the real world instead of me. My photographs, videos and installations form an enquiry into the act of looking and being looked at. Voyeurism and exhibitionism intertwine as I attempt to disrupt relationships of power in purposefully provocative scenes.´
