Hobsons House

Hobsons House is  set in a picturesque garden in an exclusive location,  50 yards from Wolfson College and minutes walk to Sidgwick Site, Newnham, Selwyn, Clare Hall, Robinson Colleges, West Road Concert Hall, University Library, Cambridge University Rugby Club, Tyndale House  and convenient to the city centre. We are also convenient to the Judges Institute, Carvendish Laboratory,  the  Isaac Newton Institute for Mathamatical Sciences, Cambridge University Engineering Dept and Haggis Farm Polo Club(site for the Cambridge Rock Festival).

Hobsons House is approx 20 minutes walk to the Cambriidge University Museum of Zoology, Archaeology & Anthropology, Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences, Fitzwilliam Museum, Scott Polar Museum and the University Botanical Garden.

Bicycle hire is available near-by.

 We have on-site parking (1 car per room whilst in residence) and is in the vicinity of 2 pubs, 4 restaurants plus access to punting. We are also minutes walk to the "Embassy" and "Kaplan" language schools.

A brisk walk to the city centre is approximately 20 min. The Red Bull Pub is 9 min, the cluster of restuarants including Bella Italia, A Thai, two Indian plus the Granta Pub in Newnham is 14 min by foot. There is a half hourly bus to the city centre during the day.

Cambridge train station is minutes by taxi. Stansted Airport is 30minutes by train. London is 50 minutes by train.
We are conveniently situated to Grantchester, renowned for it's lovely views offered by the riverside walk. It was once home to Rupert Brook and an inspiration to many of his poems.

We are 15 minutes drive to Duxford Imperial War Museum set in a very popular venue for war bird enthusiasts and air shows.

Hobsons House has  1 double and 2 twins room.Our twin bedroom can be arranged as Super King-size double or a family room (double with cot or pull-out bed (2+1) on request. Shower facility.

All rooms have flat screen television, Wi-fi access and tea/coffee making facilities.
Guide Price for doubles/twin  from £100.00-£130.00.  Family room options  for 3 people ( double + cot or single or 3 singles):  from £150 - £170.00.

Traditional English breakfast (with a continental option) is served between 7.30-8.30am on weekdays, 8-9am on week-ends.

Check-in from 4pm. EARLY CHECK-IN MUST BE CLEARED with Hobsons House PRIOR  to BOOKING on-line.

Check-out  at 10am

All guests are asked to vacate room from 10am -4pm to facilitate cleaning and general maintenance.

Full payment by cheque /bank transfer /credit card to Hobsons House is required to confirm booking.

Credit card surcharge 5%.

Rates are per room per night.

Rates quoted are correct only for the specific number of guests, nights and dates shown. Should you change the number of guests, dates or room nights, then the rates are subject to change.

Hobsons House is advertised through "Visit Cambridge". Terms & Conditions apply.  If you choose to book on-line via "Visit Cambridge" website, a £1.00 booking fee is charged by "Visit Cambridge."  Please note that this booking is in-complete and will be treated as an enquiry pending balance of payment within 48 hrs to Hobsons House.  Hobsons House will invoice you the balance to be paid by bank transfer or credit card prior to arrival. Credit card surcharge 5%.

CANCELLATIONS / NO SHOW :   You will be liable for the whole cost of your stay  unless we are able to re-let your room. We strongly urge you to ensure that your holiday is covered by adequate travel insurance, the same type of insurance that you might have if you were to travel abroad

We have a NO pets and NO SMOKING Policy.

Guests smoking anywhere inside will be liable to pay £100.00 cleaning fee and will be asked to leave.
