In 2025, 23-year-old Dutch pianist Nikola Meeuwsen won the Grand Prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Competition, becoming the first Dutch pianist to win one of the world's most prestigious music competitions. Described by The Times as having “tapped right into the delicacy and beauty of everything he played”, he is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting artists of our time. 2026 Closing Concert – The Great Tradition : Ronan O’Hora Piano Recital
Ronan O'Hora, one of the UK's leading pianists, is Head of Keyboard Studies and Advanced Performance Studies at the Guildhall School of Drama and Music in London and an internationally renowned pianist. He celebrated for the depth, clarity, and refined artistry that characterise his playing. A programme of towering Romantic masterpieces, this piano concert showcases Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 3, a work of poetic beauty and dramatic contrast, alongside Brahms’s Piano Sonata No. 3, a richly expansive and impassioned sonata of symphonic scale. Demonstrating a combination of intellectual rigour and expressive poise, O'Hora provides interpretations of lasting substance and artistic distinction.
