Shopping Centres

As well as offering some of the finest independent boutique shopping areas and unique markets stalls in the region, Cambridge is also home to a number of elegant and inspirational shopping centres, offering all your shopping needs under one roof.

If you are planning on shopping in and around the market square side of the city, the nearest shopping centres to you will be Lion Yard Shopping Centre and Grand Arcade.

Lion Yard Shopping Centre

Situated in the heart of Cambridge, Lion Yard offers a vibrant shopping experience for the whole family to enjoy. With over 35 outlets, the established shopping centre is home to a number of high street retailers.

When looking for the latest fashion trends, shoppers will be spoilt for choice with Accessorize, Miss Selfridge, New Look and Kew all offering catwalk looks at high street prices. If fashion’s not your thing, then why not head to Game or the Sony Centre to stock up on all the latest gizmos and gadgets.

After you’ve hit the shops head to one of Lion Yard’s selection of eateries and cafes to rest your tired feet. And to finish the day off, treat yourself to some pampering from either the Body Shop or Lush.

Grand Arcade

Grand Arcade is the new 21st Century shopping destination which offers high quality shopping in the very heart of Cambridge.

The contemporary arcade boasts over 50 stores, cafes and restaurants and is anchored by the largest John Lewis department store in the region. It also has its own car park with 950 spaces, a 500-space cycle park and is just seconds away from key Park and Ride drop off points.

With brands like Hugo Boss, Coast, Links of London and Ted Baker it’s easy to see why Grand Arcade is a hit with the fashion elite as well as ‘style seekers’, with high street favourites such as Jane Norman, River Island, Schuh and Warehouse. There really is no reason to go home empty handed!

The shopping arcade has an impressive line-up of stores, further complemented by the recent introduction of Sean Hanna Hairdressing and Kurt Geiger on the upper level, whilst on the ground floor you’ll now find more great places for gifts, with The Pen Shop, Chocolat Chocolat, Thomas Sabo and Guess Accessories.

For fashion-focused men, the exciting new Jack Jones store has opened adding to the ground floor line-up, which also includes Topshop, Vans and Hollister Co.

Finally, to complete your visit be sure to stay for lunch at Carluccio’s, the John Lewis Brasserie or Espresso Bar.

The Grafton

A short stroll across Christ’s Pieces will take you to The Grafton - a shopping centre boasting over 60 stores, a multiscreen cinema, a variety of cafes and restaurants and big open spaces for events and exhibitions.

The Grafton is well serviced with 3 cash points, baby changing facilities, Shopmobility facilities and over 1100 car parking spaces. It’s easily accessible by public transport as all 5 Cambridge Park & Ride services stop regularly at The Grafton Bus Interchange.

And you don’t need to worry about the kids getting bored as The Grafton Kids Club runs on the last Sunday of every month. Hosted by our very own mascot, Gordon the Gorilla, the Kids Club provides free activities and entertainment for children of all ages.
