Discover Newmarket

Discover Newmarket is set up to organise exclusive days out and tours around the town, showcasing the globally recognised headquarters of thoroughbred breeding, racing and training. Discover Newmarket offer’s an exciting range of options that accommodate all budgets and requirements, from a public tour of The National Stud at £11 per person to a luxury bespoke tour with private access to leading trainers and studs followed by hospitality at Newmarket Racecourses. The options are endless!

Visitors are offered a great opportunity to go behind the scenes at racing’s headquarters and to see the equine stars at work. Discover Newmarket is the central point for Tourist Information in Newmarket and is the town’s official Tour Guide. Our expert guides deliver tours for groups and individuals which can be organised for as little or as long as you want.

At the National Horseracing Museum and the Jockey Club Rooms visitors can explore the town’s history, culture and heritage, including links with royalty. Tourists can see mares and their foals at The National Stud, visit the gallops and racehorse training yards, enjoy the thrill of a day’s racing at Newmarket racecourses, the electrifying atmosphere at Tattersalls bloodstock auction house and the wonderful research and equine welfare work done at the Animal Health Trust.

Tours can be combined with racing at one of our two racecourses. Visits taking a half-day, full-day or longer are available. We have excellent hotels, good road and rail links. An hour away from London and just minutes from Cambridge, Ely and Bury St Edmunds, three of the England’s most famous and historic centres.
