The Theory of Everything

November 2014 saw the release of The Theory of Everything, a film shot on location using many of the University of Cambridge's colleges (primarily St. John's), as well as the cobbled streets of the city. The romantic biopic is based on the life of world famous Astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who famously studied at Cambridge University.
The film has been such a success that it has won two Golden Globe awards and has had five Oscar nominations and ten BAFTA nominations.
On Sunday 8th February at The BAFTAs 2015 The Theory of Everything took home awards for Outstanding British Film, Best Screen Play and Eddie Redmayne won Best Leading Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking.
The accolades continue to pour in well into the new year as Eddie Redmayne also won the Oscar for Best Actor at the 2015 award ceremony on Sunday 22nd February.
The film is showing in theatres nationwide.
