Language Schools

Cambridge is famous for the quality of its higher education and the traditions surrounding its ancient colleges, but even if you don't attend one of our universities you can still study in this beautiful city.

Cambridge has well over 20 fully accredited English-language centres to choose from. Each one is regularly inspected to ensure that the teaching, resources, welfare and accommodation are among the best the UK has to offer.

There are two government-recognised schemes for accrediting language schools, each inspecting establishments and encouraging best practice in the industry. These are run by the Accreditation Body for Language Services (ABLS) and Accreditation UK (British Council)

Accreditation by either scheme enables schools to support applications for student visitor visas.

Accreditation means that language students have the reassurance of knowing that whether they choose a smaller, privately-owned language school or a member of a multi-national chain, they will be properly looked after and be helped to achieve at the highest-possible level.

ABC Languages

ABC offers quality teaching with a personal touch. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, a university student or a mature professional, you'll find the course you're looking for. We provide a wide range of programmes - all in historic Cambridge. We also welcome under-18s and families during July and August.

Embassy English

Embassy Cambridge is located in the West of the city, in a modernised Edwardian house. It is close to the University and a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes by bicycle to the city centre. The Cambridge school is a specialised Cambridge examination centre, offering preparation courses for Cambridge Examinations.

Central Language School

A small, friendly city centre school giving an excellent opportunity to learn English in a warm, caring, community atmosphere. General, intensive and part-time courses with exam preparation available.  Open all year.  Accredited by the British Council.
