Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival
The much celebrated Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival takes place on the River Cam each September in aid of charity. Organisers, Gable Events, are inviting local companies, clubs and groups of friends to get a team together and be part of it!
Festival Charity Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) is the dedicated charity for Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals and Michelle Gray, Head of Community Fundraising said: “We are especially delighted to be the Festival and hope that businesses will support our much-loved hospitals by getting a team together for this popular event in September.”
To take part in this hugely popular event, all you need to do is raise a team of up to 11 people (squads can be larger) and you will be ready to ‘race the dragon’! All the dragon boats, qualified helms and racing equipment are provided, each team gets a minimum of three races and no previous experience is necessary, just plenty of team spirit and enthusiasm!
The Festival offers a full day of fun on land as well as water with plenty of activities on the bankside to entertain teams and spectators between races.

About Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT)
Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) is the only charity dedicated to making a difference for patients at Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals. Whether it’s treatment for an emergency, acute condition, pregnancy or long term illness, we believe that every patient deserves the highest quality of care available. For the past ten years, and with the help of many generous supporters, we have provided funds so that your local hospitals can offer the very best care day after day, year after year.
Our aim is to continue to support the hospitals by raising funds for cutting edge technology, additional specialist services, vital research and extra comforts for patients that make all the difference over and above what would be possible through NHS funding alone.
