Cambridge Summer Music
For nearly 40 years Cambridge Summer Music (CSM) has promoted live performances of classical music of the highest calibre in historical venues across Cambridge and the surrounding villages.
Founded in 1979 as an organ recital series, CSM’s activity has grown to encompass vocal and instrumental music of diverse genres, ranging from the most intimate solo and chamber repertoire to works for massed choir and orchestra. This year CSM will promote nearly 50 concerts across Music in Quiet Places, our spring and autumn village chamber music series, the annual Cambridge Summer Music Festival, running between 15-30 July 2016, and other events.
Through this activity CSM will reach more than 15,000 local, national and international concertgoers, enriching lives with music-making of distinction and maintaining the region’s vibrant classical music tradition.
