Mill Road Winter Fair
The Mill Road Winter Fair is fast approaching! With a record number of applicants for stalls, the fair continues to grow.
Mill Road will be closed to vehicles from East Road to Coleridge Road from 10.30-16.30, Saturday 3 December 2016.
As demand for events and dining increases, the Winter Fair has spread into some surrounding streets off Mill Road, creating hubs for more street food, performances and musical arts.
Highlights this year include:
Fire Engine Pull
A Parade: theme 'Over the Rainbow', organised by local community groups and schools
Dance Gala: all day performaces of different dances - to watch or take part (Lindyhop, bellydance, cheerleading, salsa)
All the Staples: entertainers strewn about the street, live music all day, the beautiful Chinese Lion, mimes, gospel choirs, jugglers, morris dancers and more
Local artists displaying their work in the Anglia Ruskin Drama Centre on Covent Garden
Performaces from the renowned Cambridge-based samba band Acro Iris
Cambridge University Museums (explore science, the arts, and nature with lots of activities for a range of ages)
Plethora of Christmas shopping from local and independent traders
Food to your hearts content: dine on the day or buy as gifts
New this year:
Reggae stage all day: Llyods Bank car park
A dog show and activities for the canine community
Live sculpture in the Great Eastern Street car park
Expect loads of new acts this year: a variety of buskers, musicians, circus acts and performers, not to mention an expanded food fair (always a favourite!) and a 'Dance Hub' (Dancing all day long!)
