Hotel Du Vin

This beautiful former University-owned building on Trumpington Street has been transformed to enhance its many quirky architectural features. Dating back in part to medieval times, the hotel boasts a trademark bistro with the first Hotel du Vin open-style kitchen, a cosy library, private events rooms and curiously labyrinthine cellar bar with individual snug areas.

Open seven days a week, Bistro du Vin is at the heart of the hotel, a classic, French styled, elegant and informal setting for lunch, dinner, to meet, celebrate or simply pass the time. At our Bistro du Vin Cambridge, it's about serving up dishes that not only taste great, but is also made using locally sourced produce and, wherever possible, organic too. It's about enjoying moderately priced à la carte dining in a down-to-earth, warm and relaxing setting. From simple starters like French onion soup and classic smoked salmon to mains of Normandy chicken and 28-day dry-aged steaks, it's about tucking into even better value bistro classics. As for the décor - think natural daylight, reclaimed dark-stained floorboards, an open plan kitchen, framed pictures and paintings, soft lighting and comfortable chairs. This is Bistro du Vin Cambridge. Bistro dining at its heart warming, mouth-watering best.
Hotel du Vin Cambridge has two quirky and unique private dining rooms, each varying in sizes and styling but both provide a creative and inspiring setting. Private dining doesn't just need to be for special occasions, the family gathering or a work dinner. It can be perfect for a group of friends, a family lunch or pre-wedding get together. The perfect space for a private dinner, lunch or event.  Ruinart the largest room is a light and airy with a bespoke mural covering an entire wall.  The Common Room is just off reception and is full of natural daylight with views over the historical Trumpington Street, perfect for those smaller intimate events.

For those that wish to make a night of it there are 41 timelessly styled bedrooms and stunning suites, all featuring luxurious handsprung mattresses, fine Egyptian linen, deep baths and powerful drench showers, plasma TVs, and air conditioning. Care has been taken to sensitively convert this iconic building in order to retain many of its unique features. There are various styles of rooms from standard, superior, studios and suites, some with their own private terrace.
