University Arms

University Arms Cambridge, reimagined in 2018 by architect John Simpson and interior designer Martin Brudnizki, offers 192 rooms and suites across four floors, with views over Parker’s Piece, historic Regent Street, and the hotel’s inner courtyard. The style is undeniably British. Classic Edwardian interiors are combined with bespoke, leather-padded writing desks, low ottomans and tiered chandeliers in playful colours and rooms full of natural light. The result is ambitious, beautiful, and full of life.

Echoes of the former University Arms take pride-of-place throughout the hotel; the iconic stain glass windows remain in Parker’s Tavern and the Ballroom and the original fireplace is the centrepiece in the book-lined library.

The grand 272 sq. m. ballroom, with its abundant natural light, high ceilings and original features, has a modern collegiate feel – historical and elegant yet exceptionally workable with clear sightlines and a high ceiling. Original stained-glass windows and an imposing fireplace give the room historical points of interest.

Parker’s Tavern Restaurant, a quintessentially all-day British brasserie celebrating feasting at its best, serves locally sourced, seasonal and exquisitely British cuisine. The same delicious food is served in the events space – it is creative, delicious and reflects the creativity of Chef Director, Tristan Welch. The locality and seasonality of the cuisine celebrates and supports the local farming community whilst the wine list is like a tour of the best parts of the globe with wines to suit every budget and taste.

The ballroom can accommodate up to 200 people in a theatre or reception set-up and can divide into two sections to allow for smaller events or plenary and breakout space combinations.

All rooms are fully air-conditioned and feature audio visual including: an LCD projector and pop-up screen, allowing your event to be set to your preferred configuration; complimentary WiFi; an in-house PA system and a hearing-loop.

The hotel offers meetings and events packages that incorporate all of your events requirements into one easy package or allow the experienced event’s team to create a bespoke, personally crafted event just for you. The choice is yours.

University Arms, Cambridge is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection giving an opportunity for business and leisure travellers to collect Marriott Rewards points when staying or booking an event at the Hotel.
