Becoming William Morris – Morris Month 2026

As part of #MorrisMonth this March, David Parr House are celebrating with the William Morris Society and leading cultural collaborators through events and workshops exploring how the legacies of William and May Morris continue to shape creativity, craft and culture today.

  • 11th March 2026 - 11th March 2026
  • 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm

On 11th March, we’re delighted to welcome back artist and friend of David Parr House, Freddie Yauner, for a talk on his annual ‘Morris-anuary’, a three-month homage to William Morris running from 1st January to 24th March, Morris’s birthday. During this time, Freddie attempts to ‘become’ Morris while making new work, immersing himself in Morris’s ideas and their relevance now.

Turning to Morris as a social reformer and early environmental thinker, Freddie reflects on creativity, labour and the natural world as forces for collective good. He will share projects including fishing for salmon in the Thames, reviving protest songs, dyeing red flags with madder root, printing on the Kelmscott Press using pollen as ink, and his 2025 exhibition Problems of Success at David Parr House.
