Cambridge Open Studios 2026 invites visitors to discover art where it is made.

Across four weekends in July, hundreds of artists will open their studios, homes and creative workspaces to the public, offering a rare chance to meet makers in person, see behind the scenes and explore original work across Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, Ely, Saffron Walden and surrounding villages.

Visitors can expect a wonderfully varied mix of painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, sculpture, photography, glass, mixed media, illustration, furniture, design and contemporary craft.

The event is free to visit and designed to be explored at your own pace. You can plan a full day out, follow an art trail, visit studios close to home, discover new areas, meet artists in their working environments and buy directly from the people who made the work.

Part of the pleasure of Cambridge Open Studios is the sense of discovery. Some venues are tucked away in city streets, others are found in villages, gardens, homes, workshops and studios normally closed to visitors. Each visit offers a personal insight into the artist’s process, practice and inspiration.

Whether you are a regular visitor, a first-time art buyer, a family looking for something different to do, or simply curious about the creative life of the region, Cambridge Open Studios offers a welcoming and inspiring way to experience local art.

Did you know?
