Charity Flamenco Evening

This is a charity fund-raising event organised by Cambridge 41 Club in support of The Phoenix Trust who provide training for young people with learning difficulties. The internationally acclaimed Spanish flamenco dancer Rebec Ortega will lead the event supported by guitarist Ramón Ruiz and singer Carlos Lobo. There will be a sangria and tapas reception before the performance.

  • 19th July 2025 - 19th July 2025
  • 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Cambridge 41 Club is a club for older men.  Most of the members are ex-Round Tablers. This is our first community venture for some time, and we’re fortunate in that Rebeca Ortega, the international flamenco dancer, has agreed with her guitarist Ramón Ruiz and singer Carlos Lobo to perform for us at All Saints Parish Church in Milton, Cambridge on July 19th. The evening will begin with a sangria and tapas reception.  Proceeds from the evening will benefit The Phoenix Trust.

 REBECA ORTEGA

Rebeca Ortega is an exceptional flamenco dancer and choreographer from Madrid, celebrated for her technical brilliance, creative innovation, and emotional depth in performance. A finalist at the prestigious Madrid Madroño Young Creators Dance Contest 2022 and nominated for Best Female Dancer at the Seville Stages Awards 2024, Rebeca has gained widespread recognition for her unique artistic voice in the flamenco world.

RAMÓN RUIZ

Ramon Ruiz is UK’s leading flamenco guitarist. He shares his art and passion for flamenco with everyone who is curious, appreciating a wonderfully diverse and interesting following.

Born in Granada and trained in Seville’s renowned flamenco tablao ‘Los Gallos’, by generation of world famous flamenco artists who are no longer with us, Ruiz continues developing his art from London, although Andalusia will always be his home.

As a highly sought after flamenco guitarist, composer, recording artist and teacher Ramon is very busy. He is a regular guest on BBC Radio 3 along with top UK venues including The London Jazz Cafe, each time producing something new for his audience.

Carlos Lobo

Carlos Lobo is an extremely talented artist with deep flamenco roots. He works regularly in tablaos in his native Seville alongside the top flamenco artists in Spain. He regularly tours Europe joining the Scottish National Opera and then to the Welsh National Opera for the play Ainadamar by Osvaldo Golijov.
