  • 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join us for a fun filled day at the National Horseracing Museum watching a variety of lesser-known equine sports in the Peter O’Sullevan Arena. There will be four demonstrations showcasing the versatility of horses as well as activities for everyone to take part in.

The day starts with Arena Polo, an equestrian ball game display, at 10:30am, followed by further demonstrations at 11:30am, 1pm and 2pm. In the afternoon there is a chance to reminisce old school sports days, as you watch the local Pony Club Mounted Games Teams compete against one another in diverse relay races. This fast-paced, thrilling equine sport combines hand eye co-ordination, adrenaline, and speed that will have everyone sat on the edge of their seats!

While visiting the museum you will also have the opportunity to ‘Meet and Greet’ our resident ex-racehorses, have a go at some ‘Stick and Ball’ on the ground, pick up the reins to ride our racing simulator or have a go at hobby horse riding.

Did you know?

One of the most famous figures in English history, Oliver Cromwell, was laid to rest at Westminster Abbey, but his decapitated head is buried in the grounds of Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge. Grisly but true!
