How to Save the Internet – Nick Clegg and Matt Brittin in Conversation at Robinson College

Join us for a thought-provoking evening with The Rt Hon Sir Nick Clegg and Matt Brittin as they discuss the internet's role in global stability.

  • 17th September 2025 - 17th September 2025
  • 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In his timely and challenging new work, ‘How to Save the Internet’ Nick examines where Big Tech has gone wrong and argues for bold reforms to safeguard the internet’s role in global stability. While acknowledging the urgent need for regulation, he contends that many criticisms of tech platforms are overstated, and warns that imposing national borders on the internet risks undermining its vital capacity for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, education, trade, scientific research, and human progress.

Join us for an interesting and engaging evening as Nick brings unique insight and expertise from his time as President, Global Affairs at Meta (2018–2025) and UK Deputy Prime Minister (2010–2015), and Matt (until recently President, Google EMEA) draws on his experience of over 20 years in technology and media, as they reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing the digital world today.
