October’s Cambridge Whisky Club tasting see’s us welcoming our first external presenter. This will be a distillery showcase event, welcoming an ambassador from Paul John Indian whiskies to present 6 of their best bottles. And, as it’s Diwali week, we’ll be providing some Indian sweets to nibble on as we learn what separates Indian whisky from Scotch whisky, and what makes the Paul John distillery a great example of it.
This event is open to everyone, but Cambridge Whisky Club members get 10% discount on tickets, so sign up now!

What is Cambridge Whisky Club?
Launched in March 2025, it’s a rebranding of the events that were being organised around the city under the name of Elliott Drinks Whisky. With the new name (and logo) comes an optional membership scheme. When you buy a 1 year membership, you get 10% discount on all the events we host at our HQ at Thirsty and at least 10% off whisky at the bar there too, amongst other things.
You can also sign up for our mailing list or Instagram if you want to stay connected. To learn more, head to the Cambridge Whisky Club website.
What is a guided whisky tasting?
All are welcome to attend the event, whether you consider yourself a whisky expert or haven’t explored it at all. The evening will start with an introduction to the theme or distillery. Then, for each whisky in turn, we’ll explain why it’s earned a place in the lineup, what is interesting about it, and we’ll share some nosing and tasting notes before letting you enjoy the whisky with your friends and fellow guests.
Your host will always be happy to try and answer any questions about the whiskies, the process of making them and the industry at any point. These events are a great opportunity to try some whisky you probably can’t try in a bar, without buying a whole bottle!
