Kids Comic Art Workshop

High energy comic art workshops for kids 7+, with Drawalongs, games & imaginative comic art this half term led by professional artist Russ Daff

  • 18th February 2026 - 18th February 2026
  • 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Do your kids love comic books and doodling? Looking for something different this half term? Join professional comic artist Russ Daff for a series of high energy Kids’ Comic Art Workshops at Nightingale Pavilion, near Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

After the success of his sell‑out Xmas Drawalong at the Pavilion, Russ returns with imaginative Drawalongs, playful drawing games and practical masterclasses in comic art. Known for being fun and confidence‑boosting, these sessions are designed to spark creativity and get children excited about drawing cartoons and comics long after the sessions.

The workshops run across three afternoons, Wednesday 18 to Friday 20 February, 2–4pm and are suitable for children aged 7+. Activities include guided drawing tutorials, mystery drawing bags, dice games and collaborative comic jams. No two sessions are the same, and no previous experience is needed, just curiosity and a love of comic art.

Russ Daff is a professional comic artist and published children’s illustrator, trained at Falmouth School of Art. His latest book, Tales of the Emotosphere, has been shortlisted for the 2026 Excelsior National Graphic Novel Award. Known for his playful teaching style, Russ combines strong technical skills with a real understanding of how to engage children and encourage imaginative thinking. Making his workshops lively, inclusive and most of all, great fun!

£15 per session
To book: email russdaff@gmail.com
Sessions are drop‑off, though parents or carers are welcome to stay if children need additional support. Russ and his adult assistant are DBS checked and fully insured.

Russ works closely with the Queen Edith’s Community Forum and has received support from Cambridge City Council to expand creative arts provision for older children in Cambridge. He is Creative Leader and Bursary Artist with the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.
