Marmalade Print Studio has been open for a year and is now a go-to destination for printmaking in Cambridgeshire. Our studio offers a relaxed and sociable space to get creative in and learn all about the traditional artform of printmaking. This is a practical, hands-on, printmaking workout for anyone who wants to experience different printmaking techniques, try them all out, and discover their inner creative wizardry, along the way. Working in our garden studio, over five evenings in spring, you will explore and have a chance to experiment with, Monoprinting, Linocutting, Woodblock Printing, Collagraph and Drypoint etching, as you create your own handmade artwork. By the end of the course, you will be amazed at what you have been able to achieve in a short space of time and have a clearer idea as to what direction your printmaking practice should take in the future.

“I just want to say a huge thank you for such a brilliant, extensive and well organised course. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learned so much” Deborah

No experience of printmaking is necessary to enjoy this course, but it is an ideal follow on from one of our Introduction to Printmaking workshops. Completing the course will also qualify anyone who has fallen under printmaking’s spell to keep printmaking with us if they want to, at our Print Social sessions on the last Friday of the month, starting in May 2026.

All materials are provided, along with tea, coffee and light refreshments to keep you going while you work.  Young people over 16 years old are very welcome if they bring an adult with them. Please note that although our inks are washable, and we have aprons in the studio, we don’t recommend wearing your best clothes when you visit us, as printmaking can be a bit messy!

Getting to Marmalade is Easy

Buses from Cambridge (the T5 run by A2B Buses), Ely and Newmarket (the 112 operated by Stephensons Buses) stop either outside the studio, or a few minutes away. The rail station at Soham with trains from Ely is a ten-minute walk from us. If you are coming by car, there is free on street parking outside the studio on Pratt Street and two free local car parks a short walk away.
