Saturday May 24 and Thursday June 12
10 am to 4.30 pm
Our one-day Introduction to Printmaking workshops are an ideal way to experience the magic of printmaking as you are able to explore and experiment within the session with different processes and techniques. To facilitate this, you will work in a small group with lots of one-to-one tuition designed to help you decide what direction you might like to pursue as a printmaker in the future.
By the end of your day with us, you will have a good understanding of printmaking as an art form, be comfortable using our printmaking equipment and will have designed and produced at least one Drypoint Etching and a Linocut print yourself. Our printmaking workshops at marmalade https://www.marmaladeprintstudio.co.uk/ are held in the relaxed and creative environment of our lovely garden studio in Soham, Ely, where we provide you with all the materials you need, along with tea, coffee, biscuits or cake and a light lunch.
You must be 18 or over to book a space on this course, unless you are studying GCSE art and can bring an adult with you. (We make this exception as having worked extensively in schools and colleges, we know how valuable printmaking can be in students’ portfolios). Please note that although our inks are washable and we have aprons in the studio, we recommend that you don’t wear your best clothes when you visit us, as printmaking can be a bit messy.
Here’s what one of our students, Deborah has said about working with us on this workshop
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for such a brilliant, extensive and well organised course. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and learned so much. I was rather nervous, but you were both supportive and encouraging, and, after such a long break from doing artwork, it meant a great deal to me.”
Marmalade Print Studio is easy to find https://www.marmaladeprintstudio.co.uk/contactus
We have on-street parking and two free carparks nearby and for those coming by public transport, we are five minutes’ walk from Soham train station which has good connections to Cambridge via Ely. The 112 bus route operated by Stephenson’s buses, between Newmarket and Ely also stops close to the studio.
