We are Oyster Community Press CIC, a community arts organisation and we run Marmalade Print Studio, a go-to destination for printmaking, in Cambridgeshire. This October we have weekly Discover Linocutting workshops for you to book every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm, where you will discover the magic of working with ink and paper on our traditional printmaking presses, and take home your own fabulous prints.
By the end of your Discover Linocutting workshop, you will have gained an understanding of printmaking as an artform, be comfortable using our printmaking equipment and will have designed and produced both a black and white and a colour Linocut print yourself.
As we take you through every process and provide you with one-to-one tuition to help you get the most out of your time with us, our workshops are suitable for beginners and people with no previous arts experience. They are also great for those with rusty skills who want a refresher session to boost their confidence. Young people over 16 years old are very welcome if they bring an adult with them
All materials needed are provided at our workshops, along with tea, coffee and homemade light refreshments, so you don’t need to bring anything with you. Please note, that although our inks are washable and we have aprons in the studio, we don’t recommend wearing your best clothes when you visit us, as printmaking can be a bit messy!
Here’s what Pauline, one of our printmaking students has said about printmaking with us “I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful printmaking course. It has been fantastic to learn the beginnings of a new process, and I know that I would love to learn more. The venue, the people and the teaching all made for a really special experience for me.”
