Private city-centre garden opens its doors to the public for one weekend in aid of local children’s charity.

Local charity, Red Balloon Educational Trust, is hosting its annual Open Garden event on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of June from 10 am-5 pm. This annual summer event hosted by the charity’s Founder, Carrie Herbert, gives people a chance to explore the beautiful flowers and stroll through the greenery. With the garden refreshed each year, this is a rare chance for Cambridge residents to visit and enjoy a usually private garden hidden in the heart of the city, with any donations made going towards Red Balloon.

Red Balloon Educational Trust provides an educational and therapeutic programme for young people who aren’t able to attend/engage with mainstream school because of trauma, mental ill-health and SEND. We help young people regain their confidence and self-esteem, develop their social skills and be part of an inclusive community, and catch up on missed learning. We encourage young people to build the skills and resilience they need to return to school or move forward into further education, training or work.
