Founded in 1980, the Rotenbek Trio is one of the world’s longest-standing professional guitar ensembles. Their anniversary program, Roaming Guitars, takes audiences on a captivating journey through the ages—from Renaissance compositions by John Dowland, a contemporary of Shakespeare, to modern works by Dyens and Chadwick.

Original members Heike Krugmann (Hamburg) and Peter Lohse (Kiel) are joined by Karin Aigner (Vienna), who became part of the trio five years ago. All three musicians hold master’s degrees in classical guitar from the Lübeck University of Music.

With hundreds of performances and six CD releases, the Rotenbek Trio celebrates its 45th anniversary with a special “best of” selection, featuring highlights from their extensive repertoire.
