In this workshop, you will:

- Explore simple yet effective design ideas
- Learn how to finish your rug using traditional methods
- Gain insight into the history of rag rug making in both the UK and the USA

About Lu Mason
Lu Mason began her journey with rag rug making in 1981 after moving to York, learning techniques from local makers and studying examples at the Castle Museum. Although she later trained and worked as an Occupational Therapist, she returned to rag rug making during the recent lockdown, rekindling her passion for the craft. Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Show, the Bedford Higgins Museum, the Yorkshire Arboretum and other venues across the UK. Lu now shares a studio space in York, working alongside fellow artists and continuing to explore rag rug techniques.
