The Nation’s 5K

There's something exciting heading to Cambridge this summer – The Nation's 5K! Esmée Gummer, an athlete and community leader, will be running to every city in the UK to host a 5K run club. You can walk it. Jog it. Run it. Just be there. The project goal is to get a million people moving across the UK!

The Nation’s 5k is a project launched by community leader Esmée Gummer.

At 18 Esmée was told she might never walk again. She defied that, step by step. Now she’s taking a free 5k club to every city in the UK, arriving at each city on foot by running 5,000km to the 77 events over 99 days.

In every city she stops to host a 5k.
You can walk it. Jog it. Run it. Just be there.

Find your city. Show up. Take part.

Want to meet Cambridge’s largest resident? Head to the Museum of Zoology, where you’ll be greeted by an enormous fin whale skeleton. Measuring 21-metres, it’s one of the largest of its kind ever recorded, and fills the entrance hall end to end.
