MS. ELEANOR BREEZE & MR. SID WHITE-JONES
Request the honour of your presence at the conscious coupling of their artistic practices
The Wedding of Ellie and Sid, running at Cambridge Artworks from 29 – 30 May 2026, brings together
both artists’ work for the first time.
Each drawing on a longstanding alphabet of visual references, Eleanor and Sid both use found photos as a starting point, working to capture a record of stories that are lost or at risk of becoming lost. Items such as family pets, bunches of flowers and ceremonial cakes become visual anchors and personal motifs which can be seen repeated time and time again, hinting at the struggle of a process that can never be complete.
In this exhibition, Sid’s anonymous, archival approach meets Eleanor’s personal, populated paintings. Together, the work lingers on something lost or just out of reach, inviting us to question our interpretation of familiar images.
The artists have worked together before, with Sid exhibiting at Motion Sickness Project Space, which Eleanor ran in Cambridge between 2019 and 2021 with fellow artists Denise Kehoe and Arabella Marsh-Hilfiker. The project showcased emerging artists from around the UK.
The Wedding of Ellie and Sid will open at Cambridge Artworks, 5 Green’s Rd, Cambridge, CB4 3EF from the 29th – 30th May between the hours of 10am and 6pm.
A reception will be held a day earlier, on the 28th of May from 6pm, with complimentary refreshments. RSVP here.
