Expect a spellbinding mix of free-flowing strings, locked down guitars, and vocal harmony from Thursday’s Band, whose songs are mostly original and come seasoned with folk, country, Cajun, classical, and a dash of flamenco. Sometimes they’re personal; sometimes they tell tall tales; sometimes they break out into wistful laments and exuberant tunes.
The John Meed Trio will be playing Cambridge songwriter John Meed’s ‘songs of great perception and insight’. Lucinda Fudge and Matt Kelly bring these songs to life as their strings ‘mesh beautifully to add an irresistible sparkle’ and ‘soar heavenwards’ – particularly suited to church acoustics, so a treat is in store.
