Tony Phillips is a songwriter and community activist, well known in the region for his commitment to live music through projects that include Greenstage (www.greenstage.org.uk); Cluzion Music (www.cluzionmusic.co.uk); the Bury Folk Festival (www.buryfolkfestival.co.uk) and the Milkmaid Songwriting Competition (www.songwritersclub.co.uk) with wider national roles in the folk world with his Rolling On project on sessions and singarounds (www.rollingon.org) and involvement with the national Access Folk research programme at Sheffield University led by Fay Hield (www.accessfolk.sites.sheffield.ac.uk/home).

In concert, the Dogs play a feast of reworked high energy traditional and contemporary tunes with a Celtic-fusion-prog-rock vibe thrown in for good measure. The band’s eclectic and varied set features Tony Phillips’ award winning songwriting, Richard’s original compositions and Tony Mace’s stunning new tunes.
