Twilight at the Whipple Museum

Grab your torch and explore the Whipple Museum collections after dark with a space-themed family trail.

Ever since prehistoric painters used constellations to decorate rocks, people have always been interested in the moon, stars and planets. Explore the solar system with orreries, astrolabes and telescopes, check out globes of the moon and planets and invent your own constellation!

This event is part of Twilight at the Museums, organised by the University of Cambridge Museums.

Did you know?

The city’s name is known around the world, but it wasn’t always called Cambridge. In the Middle Ages it was known as Grantabridge, meaning the bridge over the river Granta (one of the sources of the River Cam).
