An inspiring writing session offering an opportunity to pause and spend time in the moment, appreciating the beauty and wonder of the natural world as it awakens in spring. No writing experience necessary.

  • 12th May 2026 - 12th May 2026
  • 10:00 am - 11:00 am

One of three inspiring writing sessions offering an opportunity to pause and spend time in the moment, appreciating the beauty and wonder of the natural world as it awakens in spring. No writing experience necessary.

Everyone is welcome to join us in these friendly, supportive sessions led by nature writer and Guardian country diarist, Nic Wilson. Participants can do all three sessions or simply join us for one or two.

The theme for 12 May is ‘Listen and Engage’. May is the liveliest month for wild birds as they sing to defend their territories and many species begin to breed in earnest. In this second writing workshop we’ll listen to the birdsong around us, considering our responses to this natural music and working on bringing some of the species that breed at Waresley to life on the page.
