Navadhanya

Already ranked top Indian restaurant in Cambridge on TripAdvisor, Navadhanya has now been listed for the first time in the famous Michelin Guide.

The restaurant, situated on Newmarket Road, offers a fresh twist on Indian classics as well as some dishes you won’t have seen before. Drawing a loyal and ever growing clientele, diners come back again and again to Navadhanya to try their ever changing menu of delicately favoured meals.

For a completely new Indian dining experience, it’s worth ordering their seven dish tasting menu. Try their delicious Ooty Fish (monkfish, fenugreek leaves, garlic, with aubergine mash) or Railway Lamb (lamb curry finished with classic ‘southern spices’ and potatoes, served with pulao rice and dal makhni).

They also have a range of exciting desserts such as Shrikhand (cardamom hung yoghurt, fruit gel and coconut), Tandoori Ananas (slices of fresh pineapple marinated with honey and ground spices grilled in clay oven and served with pistachio kulfi) and a fantastic chocolate mousse.

Their Executive Chef, Kamaladasan, trained at the Michelin starred London restaurant Tamarind, and brings that experience to the design of every dish.

This creative flair and attention to detail has paid off, with Navadhanya being awarded a Michelin Plate in the Michelin Guide as well as a Two Fork and Spoons rating.

This rating means the restaurant has ‘good cooking with fresh ingredients, capably prepared: simply a good meal’.

The Michelin Guide also has this to say about Navadhanya: “This former pub is home to a well-regarded restaurant with white décor and a contemporary look. Dishes take their influences from around India and exhibit a modern style, while at the same time respecting tradition.”

Their menus change throughout the year, however some ‘staples’ can never be removed the menu otherwise there will be uproar from the customers!
