Coldham’s Common

A very large block of common land near the heart of Cambridge, split in two by the Cambridge-Ipswich railway line. The largest section of the common has a diverse range of habitats which support active and passive recreation.

Did you know?

One of the oldest surviving buildings in Cambridge is the Leper Chapel on Newmarket Road. Also known as the Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, it dates back to the 12th century and was originally used as a place to isolate victims of leprosy.
