Coffee Shops & Tea Rooms

Real Eating Company

We are lucky enough to have two shops in Cambridge so, whether you’re visiting for a bit of shopping or you’re on your way to work, pop in and grab a coffee or linger longer with one of our famous hearty full English breakfasts. We are at 19 Lion Yard and 54 Sidney Street, right in the middle of the beautiful, historic town centre. Across both locations, we serve freshly roasted coffee, delicious homemade cakes and other local goodies to tempt your tastebuds.

Established in 2004, the Real Eating Company is an independent café & coffee business. Shaped by the people who own and work for us. To us, being small and independently-owned means doing the right things for our customers, staff and suppliers – not shareholders or a share price.  We believe satisfied customers lead to a sustainable, profitable company. Our energy and entrepreneurial spirit has created the business that is working today in your community. Creating jobs for local people, sustaining local producers and bringing great food and drink to our customers.

One of the oldest surviving buildings in Cambridge is the Leper Chapel on Newmarket Road. Also known as the Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, it dates back to the 12th century and was originally used as a place to isolate victims of leprosy.
