Sole & Duck is a family-run, independent restaurant that offers a refreshing take on British cuisine by incorporating exotic Asian influences. Our menus feature contemporary British-Asian fusion dishes, showcasing the complexity and diversity of various Asian ingredients to create delicious flavours.

The restaurant provides a comfortable and relaxing dining experience with a minimalist interior design that reflects the aesthetics and history of the charming, early 17th-century Grade II listed building, formerly known as The Coach & Horses. Our concept is utilitarian and unpretentious, mirroring our approach to both food and service.

Sole & Duck offers an ideal setting for any occasion, including small wedding receptions, anniversaries, birthdays, corporate events, social evenings, baptisms, baby showers, and family gatherings. The entire restaurant and individual dining rooms of varying capacities can be hired for private dining.

We are open from Wednesdays to Sundays. Please refer to our latest opening hours. We take reservations for private dining on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The restaurant provides ample customer parking and is easily accessible by cycling or walking from Cambridge city centre, Grantchester along the River Cam, and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Additionally, we are close to the M11 motorway main access point to Cambridge from the south and located along the route of the Trumpington Park & Ride PR3 bus service.

Did you know?

Bringing the river to life in raucous style each June, ‘The Bumps’ are a chaotic series of rowing races. In this Cambridge tradition, which dates back to the early 19th Century, boats set out in single file and must catch and touch, or ‘bump’, the boat ahead without being caught by the rowers on their tail.
