Anglia Farm Shop Experiences

Never tried goat meat? Ever been to a goat farm? We'd love to help you discover more about both with a visit to one of our food events on our goat farm.

Farm

Spring Farm, Bottisham is now run by us - John and Melanie, where we have up to 150 goats, 40 chickens and a few sheep. We have a virtual shop where our produce is sold. The foods events are held in our beautiful 17th Century barn, so don't worry about the British weather. There are 17 acres of lands and three barns to discover during the tour.

The Food

Your ticket Price includes a sharing platter of artisan bread, a jar of home made chilli jam, a jar of hummus, smoked goat meat, goats cheese and biscuits. Main courses are served from a hot buffet. A typical choice is homemade Indian style Dopiaza style curry, goat chilli con carne, goat with red pepper and tomato stew, and goat groundnut stew ( made from peanuts ). There will also be a vegetarian option, and all served with rice. Desserts will be on a sharing platter  - homemade ice creams, brownies and fruit.

Heritage

We both have a strong heritage of food and farming. Our families have been farming for three generations and beyond. In the 50's through to the 80's our grandparents send farmed tomatoes by train to Covent Garden. As a mixed farm there were many enterprises going on throughout the year, providing jobs and income. From Christmas turkey's, to beef cattle, pigs, wheat and animal feed crops, to fruit and tomatoes, there was always work to do. Living and working on a research plantation provided us with an understanding of plant science and food development.

Agrotourism

Keep an eye out on our social media for new dates, follow us in Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. We have regular food events and will soon be offering accommodation.

We look forward to welcoming you!
