Docwra's Manor Gardens

There is something to enjoy throughout the year at the Docwra’s Manor Garden: snowdrops in January & February, daffodils in March & April and tulips in May.

Come and enjoy the collections of unusual plants, when the spring display is succeeded by the full flush of herbaceous perennials in the Walled Garden. Elsewhere roses climb up the trees and clematis clamber over the shrubs.

Autumn brings sternbergia from Greece with cyclamen and nerine and the late flowering dahlia and aster.

A delicious mid-morning coffee, a light lunch or tea are available next door at Teacake, 8 Meldreth Rd, Shepreth

We welcome visitors to come and share the pleasure of exploring this private garden, where I have been building up the collection of plants for over 50 years within walls and buildings hundreds of years old. Come and relax in the peaceful atmosphere and take away ideas for  developing your own garden.

You will see how my experienced gardeners, who work with me part-time, manage the challenge of this unusual garden.

We favour plants in their wild form, including many from the Mediterranean  - as well as our own British wild flowers. We encourage  self-seeding by our favourites. The garden designer often gives way to the plantsman.’
