Newmarket Racecourses: The Rowley Mile

The Rowley Mile is a special place like no other. It has style, vitality, class and premier sport. As befits the home of horseracing, it is steeped in memories...now is the time for you to visit us and create your own.

The spring and autumn months at Newmarket mean world class racing on the Rowley Mile, the "Course of Champions", 17 racedays - Seven during April and May and ten during September and November - are run on the most historic stretch of turf in the entire world of sport, where equine champions have been crowned for centuries.

The spring highlight is the world famous QIPCO Guineas Festival on the first weekend in May. During the autumn months highlights include the Cambridgeshire Meeting at the end of September, and Future Champions Friday in mid October.

Want to dress up and experience the vibrancy that only a day at the races can bring? Then there are a variety of bars and restaurants to choose from. You may want to really treat yourself - and your friends - by savouring a day from the luxury of our Champions Gallery, surely one of the very best views in racing. Or for those who want to evoke a sense of occasion can hire one of our stylish Executive Boxes.

A race-day at Newmarket might mean getting up close and personal with the stars, both equine and human. In which case, a front-row seat around the paddock is the place to be.

Others might wish to join the hustle and bustle, trackside. This is the place to experience the unforgettable sight and sound of a field of finely-tuned racehorses powering right in front of you. And yes, it feels as if the the ground beneath your feet is quaking with the reverberation of horses' hooves as the cries of the jockeys fill the air.

There really is nothing in horseracing that's quite like being at the Rowley Mile, especially on one of its many top race-days. The thrill of a close-call finish, the colour of the winner's circle and the sense of excitement make for a heady cocktail. Small wonder, folk have been drawn to Newmarket since King Charles II watched the races here in the 17th century.

Yes, Newmarket has an intriguing history but fresh chapters unfold each year. At the Rowley Mile, each race-day is a celebration and we want you to be part of it.
