Peckover House and Garden, The National Trust
Historic House / Palace

Peckover House is a secret gem, and oasis hidden away in an urban environment. A classic Georgian merchants town house, it was lived in by the Peckover family for 150 years.
The Peckovers were staunch Quakers, which meant they had a very simple lifestyle, yet at the same time they ran a successful private bank, the story of which can be seen in our banking exhibition. The two acre garden is an outstanding sensory delight, with an Orangery, summerhouses, croquet lawn, herbaceous borders and more than 60 varieties of rose.
