Peterhouse

Hugh de Balsham, Bishop of Ely, founded Peterhouse, the first Cambridge College, in 1284. The Hall, which is the oldest in any Cambridge College, has work by William Morris, Burne Jones and Madox Browne. Former students include Charles Babbage.
