The theme this year is "Learning how to look after our plant" A traditional village show. Lots of classes to enter including home grown vegetables, flowers, flower arranging, handicraft, photography etc. Craft stalls, village cafe, BBQ, tug of war, circus skills workshop, beat the goalie and many other activities. On Sunday 20th November, we head to Market Square to turn on the city centre lights. The annual Big Switch On kicks off Christmas season this year with Star Radio taking control of stage, promising to entertain the crowds from midday. There will be a lively line up from local performing arts clubs, choirs and much much more. This year we are joined by Cambridge United and Mayor of the City of Cambridge – Councillor Mark Ashton to help switch on the Christmas lights.

This year, the event will take place from Friday 25th November – Sunday 27th November 2022, with the popular Christmas Lights Switch on scheduled for Friday 25th November at 6.30pm. Gold medalist, Jake Jarman will officially switch on the lights for everyone to enjoy.
One of the oldest surviving buildings in Cambridge is the Leper Chapel on Newmarket Road. Also known as the Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, it dates back to the 12th century and was originally used as a place to isolate victims of leprosy.
