Beginners Evening Course

This course is for complete beginners with no previous experience of floristry or flower arranging. We have updated for the Autumn using the abundance of rich colours, berries and flowers available through September and October.

  • 20th September 2023 - 1st November 2023
  • 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

This course will give you a foundation in floristry skills and techniques to create designs that you can recreate at home.  There will be fun homework each week to ensure you get as much from the course as possible (most of it is practical – although not compulsory we do recommend it!).

All the designs are sustainable and use biodegradable floral foam alternatives where required.

Optional Toolkit

We have toolbox kits available to purchase with all the tools should you wish to practice between sessions for £75.00.  These need to be purchased prior to the start of the course and must be paid for when you book.  You will be able to collect your toolbox kit at the first session.

Everything you create on this course you take home.

CONTENT

You will learn:

Bouquets – not boring ones, but vibrant, loose and best of all made by you.  Working with flowers and colours and looking at different materials to wrap them in!

Table arrangements – from wild centres to formal dinner party designs. Working with different seasons.

Dried flowers – Want longevity?  Then dried is the way to go!  We create popular “lunch bunches” using Japanese inspired packaging and the cutest napkin rings (make great Christmas gifts that you can make nice and early).

Autumn Wreath – perfect for your front door, you will create a gorgeous foliage and berry filled wreath.

Harvest Festival  – so perfect for the Autumn!  A box full of flowers and foraged foliage that makes the perfect gift or decoration for any home.

Vase of flowers – sounds so simple, but oh so not!  We look at the vases, urns and containers, the flower and foliage that make up the perfect arrangement for any home. Learn how to effectively use chicken wire time and time again.

The Basics – tools and equipment, working with colour, texture and different flower varieties.

The course fee includes all the flowers and materials required to complete the course along with a notebook and pen to take invaluable notes of everything you learn.  You simply need to turn up!  No long lists of flowers to bring each week – we provide everything!!!

You will also be provided with tools and an apron to use during the course.   If you wish to purchase tools, we have these available and can be purchased during the course.
