Dante Dreaming

A programme of music and readings inspired by the Dante Alighieri.

  • 5th April 2023
  • 6:00 pm

Music and poetry on the theme of dreaming under the famous ceiling of King’s College Chapel.

From Florence, Lorenzo Bastida recites Dante’s ‘La divina commedia’, interspersed with music composed by Stephane Crayton. The music is performed live by Stephane and Rachel Stroud, and combines modern and ‘period’ violins, tuned to slightly different pitches, giving the music an other-worldly, dream-like quality.

In Cambridge for one night only.

The event takes place Wednesday 5th April 2022 at 6pm in King’s College Chapel. Duration approx. 1hr.

Tickets available here.

3 Dreams will be reprised in Florence, Arezzo and Pienza in May 2023. Please contact Stephane for more information.

Did you know?

One of the most famous figures in English history, Oliver Cromwell, was laid to rest at Westminster Abbey, but his decapitated head is buried in the grounds of Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge. Grisly but true!
