David Preston Quartet

Guitarist and composer David Preston leads a new quartet playing all-original material from his upcoming debut album ‘Purple / Black’, featuring ECM-recorded pianist Kit Downes, Sebastian Rochford (Sons of Kemet, Brian Eno) and bass virtuoso Kevin Glasgow.

A finalist in the 2009 Montreux International Guitar competition, David is composer and co-leader of the critically acclaimed UK modern-jazz trio ‘Preston Glasgow Lowe’ and has released two albums of all-original music on the UK/US label Whirlwind Recordings. He has been active as a sideman to a breadth of UK musicians including Jeremy Stacey, Lianne La Havas, Nathaniel Facey, Asaf Sirkis, Peter Ind, Emma Rawicz, Jamie Murray and the internationally celebrated piano-and-drum virtuoso Gary Husband. He has performed, toured and recorded with Grammy-Winning US jazz vocalists Melody Gardot, Curtis Stigers and Jesse Harris.
