Evening You Song | Our Place in Space

Join us for a spectacular performance of live choral music based on traditional Even Song.

  • 31st July 2022
  • 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Devised by Bettina Furnée and Lucy Sheerman, Even You Song was written using candid responses from twelve couples who were interviewed about taking an extended trip to the moon together. Their answers form the basis of this new libretto, set to music by composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad.

A new Reflection is created for each location, and for this outdoor performance celebrating Our Place in Space, it will be written and delivered by Oliver Jeffers. The evening will be led and introduced by celebrated live artists Hunt & Darton.

Even You Song will be performed by eight professional singers and the organist Joseph Wicks. Directed by Owain Park, the performance will be supported by an intergenerational community choir led by Sam Hayes.

A free printed libretto will be available to audience members, allowing you to take part in interactive elements of the performance.

Did you know?

The city’s name is known around the world, but it wasn’t always called Cambridge. In the Middle Ages it was known as Grantabridge, meaning the bridge over the river Granta (one of the sources of the River Cam).
