Garden House Presents…The Garden Grill Series

On September 26th, Garden House – the beautiful restaurant within Graduate Cambridge, nestled on the banks of the River Cam – will play host to a collaborative dinner with some of the area’s most celebrated and well-loved chefs. Hosted by Garden House’s Executive Chef Adam Wood, formerly of London’s award winning Perilla, guests are invited to enjoy a four-course menu which champions local and seasonal produce with dishes from Alex Rushmer (Vanderlyle), Dan Fancett (Fancett’s) and Rosie Sykes (previously Pint Shop and Fitzbillies).

Set in the heart of one of Britain’s best loved historic cities, the Garden Grill Series offers guests a rare opportunity to sample unique and seasonal dishes from Cambridge’s burgeoning food scene, all under one roof for one night only. To start, guests will be welcomed from 6:30pm for a drinks reception, with refreshing cocktails such as the Rhubarb Spritz, a blend of aperol, rhubarb and Coates & Seely sparkling wine before being seated in the Garden House dining room at 7:15pm for the main event.

Alex Rushmer, Chef Founder of Vanderlyle on Mill Road, who works directly with farmers and producers to create ingredient-centric dishes, will be creating a starter to kick off proceedings. Dan Fancett, Head Chef of the French-influenced bistro Fancett’s, will be preparing a fish course of Brancaster crab lasagne. This dish features scallop mousse with crab meat with layers of pasta, and is a nod to the lobster mousseline starter which is a staple at Fancett’s. Garden House’s Adam Wood will be serving a main course of Aynhoe Park Venison to share, with roasted plums & green peppercorn sauce, in honour of the start of game season and the change in seasons as autumn rolls in. Chef and food writer Rosie Sykes will be creating a dessert of Roasted pear, lemon verbena syrup, homemade fig leaf ricotta & fennel seed olive oil biscuit.

Each Chef will present their dish alongside a few words on their inspiration and ingredient provenance throughout the night, shining a light on the wealth of suppliers and producers serving Cambridge and East Anglia. The dinner will be an opportunity to herald in the autumn months with a delicious dinner in celebration of the season.

Garden House Presents…The Garden Grill Series will take place on Monday 26th September. Priced at £65pp, each ticket includes a welcome drink and the four-course menu.
