GreenMatthews (Chris Green and Sophie Matthews) are dedicated advocates of the age-old power of narrative song to delight contemporary audiences. Following 10 years of acclaimed Christmas touring shows as a duo, they have expanded the line-up to create new, more expansive arrangements of Chris and Sophie’s popular festive fayre. Joined by Emily Baines (early woodwinds) and Richard Heacock (violin), their music evokes the Spirit of Christmas Past with repertoire spanning 600 years from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Featuring Christmas carols, winter folk songs, toe-tapping tunes and an abundance of weird and wonderful instruments, Gaudete! brings the festive season to life in rich sound and colour.
