Inner Dance: A Sound and Somatic Journey – an inner journey of self-discovery.
Inner Dance is an inner journey of self-discovery. It is a powerful opportunity to dive deeply into your inner wisdom and embrace the present welcoming in every aspect of yourself.
It is a 3hr sound and somatic journey where we use a specific musicscape designed to stimulate certain brain waves, creating a trance-like state.
So how does it work?:
Neurons in your brain use electrical signals to create thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When neurons synchronize, this creates brain waves. Brain waves can range from low frequency to high amplitude and high frequency to low amplitude. The brain waves create and respond to binaural beats. This leads to different mental states, which affect the brain in different ways.
We play specific music, that will elicit certain brainwave states to help you journey into a trance-like state – where you can explore emotions and past memories, in a safe and held space. In Inner dance we use touch, sensory stimulation, and energy work, to help guide you through your journey. This co-facilitation allows you to journey deeper, in a safe and supported way.
So what will it be like?
Participants begin by lying down on a mat. When the music is played they surrender to whatever arises in their subconscious. Some people feel things, others see images arising in their inner mind’s eye, and others may just find it deeply relaxing. Many people report experiencing visions, memories, and insights.
During the journey the music may create impulses within your physical body – many people respond to these with spontaneous movements. Some attendees will remain laying down throughout the journey, whilst others will dance, sing, cry or laugh and spend most of it on their feet. It is a uniquely different experience for every individual.
Whilst you are journeying you will experience the guiding presence of the facilitators. Gentle touch, smells and other sounds are played to help activate your inner journey.
Inner dance has often been described as a type of shamanic journeying. Or like an ayahuasca journey without ingesting DMT.

People often describe feeling a state of profound relaxation after an Inner Dance session, as it helps to regulate your nervous system, and moves you into a parasympathetic state.
Attendees often report experiencing deep healing during the sessions. As sessions often reveal conscious and subconscious patterns. Your inner journey is a safe space for letting go of traumas that no longer serves you.
Do I need anything?
You will need to bring a yoga mat or something soft to lay on, and a blanket. You may want to bring a pillow. We encourage you to make yourselves as comfortable as possible.
