Life On The Edge

Create a new life and explore the Roman Empire in our choose-your-own-adventure trail for kids.

  • 19th July 2023 - 31st August 2023

The Romans are here! They’ve marched through the countryside of ancient Britain, bringing their strange customs and scary soldiers. But what happens next?

Will you become a Roman or join the resistance? Will you explore the Mediterranean sea or stay at home? That’s entirely up to you!

Take your family on a journey in history with a story which puts you in control. Our create-your-own-adventure trail will guide you around the gallery and let you explore the colourful Roman world. With each choice children will practise their reading skills and learn about the ancient world, all while they craft their own stories.

Where will the adventure take you?

This is a free, drop-in trail. No need to book.

This trail is a Summer with the Museums activity.

Did you know?

Forming part of St John’s College, The Bridge of Sighs is one of Cambridge’s most famous landmarks. It shares little with its Venetian namesake, but this Gothic Revival style structure is a beauty in its own right, best admired by punt.
